Few areas in the world are as wonderfully surprising as the Costa Blanca. Just when you think that you know it well, you discover that this is only half way true. The bustle of the coast contrasts with the peace of the inland villages. The scent and roll of the sea contrast with the fragrance of the herbs, the rosemary and thyme, the orange blossoms, and the sound of the crickets. The Northern part of the coastline is so very different from the southern part. You know the one, but do you know the other?

Let the sun warm your face in the middle of winter. Let the sun shake your winter blues. The Costa Blanca has a beautiful golden light, even more so in winter. The summer heat creates a light fog, which the locals call “calima”, that softens the edges of everything in sight. Winter has a gift for the hiker: beautiful clear skies, sharp outlines, the warmth of the bright sun capable of shaking anybody’s winter blues!

6 of the most beautiful routes in the Costa Blanca, where paths among pine trees, heather, oaks and Mediterranean fan palms bring you to breathtaking landscapes with lime cliffs and, sometimes, the sea…

What’s special about this trip?

Not every hiker cares about summits, but we all are into mountains and trails!  Enjoy the walks among the terraces covered in almond, olive, orange or lemon groves, and the pine woods, the heather and gorse scrub; the limestone pinnacles and summits. The Costa Blanca is known world-wide for bustling towns like Calpe, Altea, or Benidorm; but the Costa Blanca is also one of the most rugged regions in the world, with an inland scattered with quiet, quaint villages where the traces of the Christian Reconquest, its castles and mountain little villages move our souls to dream and become a part of History.

Walking in the Costa Blanca is always a deeply moving experience, a “must” in every short list.
