What’s my level?
How challenging do you want your adventure to be?
Challenge is a combination of physical, technical, and psychological demands.
At Soul Trekking we realize that a hike that is too hard is no fun at all. Too easy is no fun either. That’s why we describe our walks as:
These are walks that fit anyone in good health. About a couple of hours along good, easy paths, sometimes paved, clearly marked off, and carrying very little weight, if any; no steep slopes or uneven terrain.
These walks require some physical condition plus some experience hiking. About three to five hours walking with light backpacks (food for one day and some extra clothing), these hikes may take you through some tricky terrain, rocky or muddy, but with no significant vertical gains.
Challenging, long walks on narrow paths and eventually short off trail sectors or steep slopes, but no climbing skills needed. Still light backpacks, depending on the time of the year, and up to about 650 m vertical gains.
Conceived for avid, in good shape, and experienced hikers, these are day-long walks carrying moderate to not-too-heavy backpacks, with significant vertical gains (650 m. or more), and/or technical difficulties, with eventually off-trail sectors or poorly marked off paths. Some climbing skills may be needed. One night bivouac may be included.
Extended treks in autonomy (three or more days) with long distances and very significant vertical gains (1.000 m. or more sometimes), on rough and sheer terrain, off-track sectors where climbing experience is needed, orienteering difficulties, and eventually carrying heavy backpacks. Physically demanding, they require technical skills and psychological commitment with the activity.
Of course, this description is not fixed: it may change to reflect a customized program, the weather forecast, the time of the year, the assistance granted by our team, your own fitness level, etc.
If you are not sure, please ask us.
In compliance with our general terms and conditions, if you are interested in one of our more challenging activities (specifically the routes including nights in bivouac), we may ask you to do an easier hike first so we can make sure we understand exactly what you are looking for.
In this case, and if you book a multi-day hike, the trial hike will be offered to you free of charge. Otherwise, Soul Trekking will charge 250 €, V.A.T. included.
In compliance with our general terms and conditions, if you are interested in one of our more challenging activities (specifically the routes including nights in bivouac), we may ask you to do an easier hike first.
